Abstract painting by Bénie, Omaël Gallery, Côte d'Azur

The artist's statement

My Painting

Through these abstract acrylic paintings — on canvas or wood — I unveil a part of my imagination, and of my soul.

When colours appear, sparkling and blending, colliding and shaking up the surface, they become an indescribable explosion. Sometimes I experiment freely, without any specific intent. Sometimes I follow a precise vision and try to express it.

My canvas … my colours … my brushes … My heart throbs with happiness each time I meet them — excited, as before a first encounter.

Sharing with sincerity, fragility and humility a fragment of the infinite energies that move us: this is the most exciting challenge I know.

To create is to assume to live.

The artist

Bénie

"The strongest feeling I get through this art is definitely FREEDOM."

I have been painting for several years with acrylic paint, incorporating various mediums and materials. After a long break, I took my brushes back — together with all my tools and "stuff".

Depending on my mood and inspiration, I sometimes combine paint with material collages. Sometimes I hold a clear image in mind and execute it, watching it evolve through the creative process. Sometimes I let colours guide me entirely, diving into a story I invent as I go.

The path is as important as the destination. Above all, I aspire to reawaken the imagination of whoever encounters my work — borderless, without conventions or constraints, only the canvas and my freedom.
